This is a log of stuff I did w/ one of my random pet projects, it’s not terribly interesting and is mostly just so I can get into the habit of writing more. You have been warned.
Since last time I worked on mealplanner, I just implemented the small to medium changes I identified were needed in my review of the entire order workflow. Nothing too interesting, but here’s what the app looks like now:
Other than that, I did manage to cook one of the meals, and more than that, made it vegan! The recipe I used was
Chicken Souvlaki with Tzatziki, Pita Chips, and Little Gem Salad
. I substituted the greek yogurt needed for the tzatziki with
kite hill almond greek yogurt, and the chicken with a chicken-y seitan, that I also made myself.
And (to my surprise), it tasted great! And like chicken. I didn’t really think it would taste the same, vegan approximations usually don’t in my experience, but this actually did.
Which might not seem so important, especially with regards to the app, but it does bode well for my planned “Veganize It” feature. It means that these recipes CAN be made vegan and the result will actually taste good!
Anyway, that’s all for now. Next time (which will hopefully be in a couple days) I’ll be starting on the nutritional analysis feature.
